In Awe

March 15, 2009 by Jennifer

The last few months have been full of stretching.  Mentally, emotionally, spiritually.  Due in a large part to the fact that I have to raise an enormous amount of money in seven months.  Due to the fact that I’m getting ready to leave my home, family, and friends for two years. Due also to the fact that I’m finishing up my senior year of college, with all its joys of student teaching.

But even though the stretching of the last months has not always been enjoyable it has truly been a good thing.  And I am in complete awe of what God is doing, in my life and in the lives of those around me.

Today I am celebrating a major milestone in this time of stretching.   A milestone that at times I did not think I would reach.  My outgoing financial support is now 100% raised!  This means that God has brought in over $10,000. I know He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, but to actually see how He uses those cattle to care for His children has been an incredible blessing. And I am in no doubt but that the rest of my needed monthly support will be raised in His timing.  (I currently am at 45% of my needed monthly amount.)

The next few months will be full as I continue to prepare to leave for Mozambique in late June.  And I cannot wait to see how God will use these months to continue that stretching experience.  A little scared, yes, but oh, so excited!
