For most of my life I have lived on a farm with my parents and siblings in rural Oregon. In May 2009 I graduated from Corban College with my Bachelor of Science in elementary education. July 2009 through July 2011 I am serving in Mozambique among the Mwani people, where my primary job will be teaching.
I love: Ugandan tea, multiples (twins, triplets, etc), bookshopping expeditions, the ocean, late night chats with friends, pineapples, driving, and Africa!
I have loved Africa since my first visit (to Nairobi, Kenya) in 2006, and knew that somehow my future would be intertwined with Africa. In May 2008 I returned to Africa, this time to serve with Africa Inland Mission in Uganda. After three months in Arua, Uganda I returned home to complete my senior year of college. (I have uploaded the emails I sent out during my time in Uganda, so that you can enjoy the many amazing stories.)
I am excited about the opportunity to serve the Lord on the wonderful continent of Africa, and I can’t wait for the exciting, amazing, and maturing adventures that I know will come my way!

Jennifer-
How absolutely thrilling! Our church is planning on sending a group to an unreached people group in 2015 or so…depends how long it takes us to get ready. Mozambique is one of three places we are praying about.
We are taking the Perspective’s class. I was wondering if you would share any information about the Mwani’s with us. What approach did you use? Anything about the culture…wedding ceremony??? belief…worldview… how many dunkings? any home gatherings? Spiritual insight??? God bless you abundantly.
